Mwrog was a religious leader from Wales who lived during the 6th century. Very little is known about his specific life, and his name is considered uncommon, potentially originating from the Gwydel dialect. He is traditionally associated with two distinct locations in northern Wales, specifically Llanfwrog on Anglesey and Llanfwrog in Denbighshire. His legacy is preserved through local church dedications and historical traditions tied to these northern regions.
Tradition and sites

In Denbighshire, a church near Ruthin is dedicated to Mwrog and the Forwyn Fair. The surrounding settlement features a circular shape, which suggests an early foundation. Local tradition claims that the nearby Mynwent Mwrog site once housed his original monastery or church, although no physical remains of these structures are visible today.
Commemoration
The saint is honored on different dates depending on the location. In Llanfwrog on Anglesey, his feast day is observed on 6 January. In the Llanfwrog of Denbighshire, the commemoration occurs around 15 or 16 January.
