Douglas Noel Adams (11 Maart 1952 - 11 Mei 2001) was 'n Engelse skrywer van romans, essays, draaiboeke en toneelstukke. Adams het die grootste bekendheid verwerf vir sy radio-drama en roman The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, wat uiteindelik ontwikkel is in 'n populêre reeks van vyf boeke (wat hy nietemin 'n "trilogie" genoem het).
