Saint Honestus was a 3rd-century Christian martyr and missionary who was born in Nîmes. As a follower of Saturninus of Toulouse, he traveled to Spain to spread the Christian faith. Some traditions identify him as a nobleman who served as an apostle to the Basque Country and Navarre. He eventually met his death in Pamplona during the persecutions led by the emperor Aurelian.
Life and ministry

Following his mentor Saturninus, Honestus focused his evangelical work in the Spanish regions. Legend suggests his influence was significant enough to convert the senator Firmus and his entire family to Christianity. During these events, the son of Firmus, known as Saint Firminus, was baptized either by Honestus or by Saturninus.
Veneration
Honestus is recognized as a saint within the Catholic tradition. He is commemorated annually on February 16. His legacy is tied to his role as a missionary and his ultimate martyrdom in Pamplona, marking him as a key figure in the early Christian history of the region.
