QWER is a South Korean girl band that performs rock and anime-style songs, operating under Tamago Production. The group has said it was inspired by Japanese idol-themed manga such as Oshi no Ko and Bocchi the Rock!, as well as musical acts like Yoasobi. QWER debuted on October 18, 2023, with the single album Harmony from Discord. Its members were recruited through the QWER Project, a YouTube series that followed the formation of a group made up of female online personalities.
Formation and name
The band's English name comes from QWERTY, the first six keys on the top row of a Latin-script keyboard. Q, W, E and R are also primary keys in online games such as League of Legends. The project was launched by Tamago Production in collaboration with 3Y Corporation, with management and production later shared between 3Y Corporation and Prism Filter Music Group. Before joining, each member already had an established career, including streaming on Twitch, content creation on TikTok, and a past role in the Japanese idol group NMB48.
Releases and tours
After its debut, QWER released the EPs Manito and Algorithm's Blossom in 2024, and the EP In a Million Noises, I'll Be Your Harmony in 2025. The group held its first world tour, Rockation, beginning in Seoul in October 2025. In July 2026 it made its Japanese debut with the single Show Down, which serves as the opening song for the anime Tomb Raider King.
