Droktovey was a 6th-century religious leader who served as the abbot of the Abbey of Saint Symphorien in Autun. A disciple of Saint Germain of Paris, he was later invited to Paris to lead the clergy at the Basilica of Saint Vincent and Saint Cross, an institution established with the support of King Hildebert I. During his tenure in Paris, he was responsible for organizing the liturgical practices of the basilica.
Life and service
After his time in Autun, Droktovey moved to Paris to oversee the basilica founded by King Hildebert I. His leadership helped establish the liturgical traditions of the site. The basilica eventually evolved into the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, which became the final resting place for the saint.
Veneration
He is commemorated on March 10, according to an 859 martyrology. This specific record served as a foundational text for many subsequent martyrologies. He is recognized as a saint within the Catholic tradition.
